Perry Library

ODU’s Patricia W. and J. Douglas Perry Library is adjacent to West 43rd Street.

With over 3 million resources ranging from print and e-books to journal articles and databases, the Perry Library serves to enrich the academic, research, and learning experience of the University community through people, collections, and spaces.

The Writing Center is on the first floor and helps students with essay writing and grammar.

The Accessibility Office is at the back of the building. The office helps provide all health-related accommodations through their learning and education needs. The Student Success Center is also located at the back of the building, and focuses on providing the best learning experience for all students.

The Perry Library is open 24/5 during the academic school year and you can always find Monarchs studying on any of the four floors, which get quieter as they go up (perfect for any study style)! Click here to listen now.

Library Resources

🤝 Collaboration Spaces

The first floor of Perry Library is known as the collaboration floor, meaning we encourage students to talk and work together. You’ll also find collaboration rooms here, which can be rented out on the library website using your ODU email. Students can book a room for up to 2 hours a day! They’re great for group projects and include resources that make working together a piece of cake.

🧬 Science Testing Center

The the 4th floor of Perry Library is home to the science testing center and the designated quiet area. That means it is very silent up there, but if that’s what you need to be successful, ODU will provide the space. In our computer stations, you’ll find we offer both Windows and Mac devices to accommodate either your preference or specific software programs that are only available on one or the other

📚 Library Resources

ODU is also a part of the inner library loan system, which allows students to request materials from other schools to use here on campus!

All of our resources here in the library are available to students 24/5, meaning the library is open 24 hours, 5 days a week.

Students have access to 7 group collaboration rooms, a presentation room, and 11 group study rooms can be reserved for study needs. Equipment loans at the front desk are also provided from iPads, camera, laptops, and phone chargers.

During finals week we are open 24/7 so students can camp out and meet all their studying needs.
