Serving as the first Leadership Environmental Engineering Design, LEED, certified building on a university campus in Virginia, this building houses the CAVE Virtual Reality Simulator.
ECSB also has the National Green Leaf Award for its significant and positive contributions to the environment. There are rafters on the windows that move during the day to direct sunlight and soil on the top to irrigate water to greenery below.
This building also supports multiple collaborations with NASA.
