Campus Makeup and History

The University of Georgia was chartered in 1785, and is considered to be the birthplace of public higher education in America. With nearly 40,000 students, the sprawling 758 campus has a lot to offer. Across its 18 schools and colleges, students can choose from over 200+ majors, minors and certificates. While it's a large campus, class sizes are small and offer students the ability for hands-on learning with an average student-to-faculty ratio of 17:1.
