⭐ Admissions Overview
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions utilizes a whole-student review model to make admission decisions. Primary consideration is academic and focuses on grades earned in high school, rigor of curriculum and test scores. Secondary consideration is given to factors not seen in the numbers and includes intellectual pursuits, creative endeavors and intercultural experiences; public service, co-curricular activities, community involvement, leadership and family commitments; integrity and personal maturity.
UGA offers two application pathways: Early Action and Regular Decision. Both of these pathways are reviewed utilizing the same criteria—it’s just a matter of timing. Early Action applications are due on October 15, while Regular Decision applications are due on January 1. Supporting materials for each application are due one week after the deadline.

⭐ Scholarships
Last year, UGA awarded more than $3.5 million in scholarships and awards from University Foundation funds to undergraduate students. Most academic (merit-based) scholarships for first-year students are awarded during the Admissions process and are primarily based on academic factors that are submitted by the applicant. All scholarships awarded by the Undergraduate Admissions office are renewable for eight semesters of full-time enrollment, or the completion of a Bachelor’s degree. To renew the scholarship each year, students must maintain specific academic requirements which are detailed in the award letter.
⭐ New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation at the University of Georgia seeks to prepare students for academic and social engagement as members of the UGA community. Through it's transition programs and resources, NSO aims to provide information and experiences that will support students and their family in their transition to college and to the University of Georgia.
The New Student Orientation Program is housed in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and supports the University and the Office of Instruction by working towards its mission: to prepare students, their families, and supporters for academic and community engagement by promoting self-cultivation, community development and an understanding of instructional and institutional processes prior to enrollment and throughout the first year.
