Located on North Campus, the academic building is named in honor of the first two African American students admitted to UGA, Charlayne Hunter (now Hunter-Gault) and the late Hamilton Holmes.

⭐ Office of Institutional Diversity
The Office of Institutional Diversity (OID) leads the university in fulfilling its commitment to be a diverse campus that is enriched and informed by the personal, cultural, and intellectual differences of its students, faculty, staff and visitors. This effort is fulfilled through campus programming, student clubs and organizations as well as faculty and staff training to ensure a well-rounded approach.
RISE
RISE Scholars is a program structured to assist in the transition from high school to college for newly committed, underrepresented students at the University of Georgia. The program’s goal is to increase the retention, progression and graduation rates of its scholars by providing academic, personal, social and professional engagement opportunities designed to ensure success at the University of Georgia.
Georgia Daze
In the Fall 2004, three African American students founded Georgia Daze at the University of Georgia. Georgia Daze served as a two-day, overnight campus visitation program, hosted in February and April, for high school seniors admitted to the University of Georgia. This program aims to encourage talented, historically underrepresented students to enroll at the University of Georgia. During this weekend prospective accepted students and their parents or guardians are exposed to faculty, staff, students, campus leaders, UGA offices and student organizations.
Movimiento Latino
Movimiento Latino is a visitation program for admitted Hispanic/Latino/@/x undergraduate students. Founded at the University of Georgia in the Spring of 2008, students will interact with various UGA faculty, staff, students and campus leaders throughout the program. Students and their support network will leave the weekend with knowledge that our university offers students from diverse backgrounds, including Latino/@/x students, excellent resources that create a strong sense of belonging here at the University of Georgia.

The Office of Student Financial Aid assists both new and returning students in learning about available resources to fund their attendance,
The most important thing a prospective student can do is to complete the electronic FAFSA by our December 15 priority consideration date. Completing the FAFSA process enables OSFA to determine your eligibility for federal and state need-based student financial aid programs.
OSFA Counselors are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time to answer your questions.
