⭐ Physics & Computer Science
Our physics, computer science, and engineering faculty focus on providing students a rigorous and experimental-based education. We do this through small class sizes (we graduate roughly ten physics majors per year), faculty mentored research, and a dedication to the career aspirations of our students.
Physics
Physics studies space, time, and matter – the material universe and everything in it. At Presbyterian College, we approach our study of the universe and our place in it from a Christian liberal arts perspective. When God said “Let there be light," we understand something of the role of the Creator in governing the cosmos, and our place in it.
Through physics, we have come to appreciate how the sun and the moon work by means of fusion and gravitation, but we also understand them as two great lights given for signs and for seasons. Both the physical world and our ability to know it are gifts which we accept with gratitude, humility, responsibility, and love.

Dual-Degree Engineering
Students may combine study in liberal arts with further study in an engineering discipline under the cooperative dual-degree programs Presbyterian College has with Auburn University, Clemson University, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of South Carolina, and Vanderbilt University.
These five-year arrangements permit students to spend their first three years at PC completing general education requirements and participating in the physics major program. The remaining two years are spent at one of the partner institutions studying in the chosen engineering discipline. Upon completion of the program, the student is awarded the B.S. degree in physics from PC and the engineering degree from the partner institution.

Computer Science
Take a minute and try to imagine a world without computers: no PC, laptop, or tablets, no word processing for papers or spreadsheets for business, no databases with unimaginable amounts of information, no communication via the web, no online shopping, and no social networking. How can you live WITHOUT knowing something about computer science these days?
In today’s digital society, it is imperative for every student to have a thorough understanding of the discipline of computer science, no matter their chosen field. And it is our goal to introduce students to both the theoretical and technical aspects of the field, help them to understand the great breadth of this academic area, and help them be able to continuously adapt to this ever-changing digital world.

⭐ Chemistry & Biochemistry
Great teachers. Great classmates. Classrooms, labs, and research opportunities that cross departments and countries, career fields, and graduate schools. That is what you will find in chemistry at PC.
Biochemistry
Have you ever wondered how molecules do what they do? Have you ever wondered how biology works at the molecular level? Were you the kid that mixed things together just to see what it would do?
The study of chemistry and biochemistry can open doors to a variety of exciting and challenging careers. Whether you are interested in energy, transportation, public health, the environment, materials, or manufacturing, a PC chemistry degree gets you ready to go places in a variety of ways to help you plan and meet your goals.

Chemistry
The Chemistry Department offers classes that are small. Working with faculty mentors, you’ll find a dynamic curriculum with core courses in general, organic, analytical, and physical chemistry and advanced study in fields such as spectroscopy, advanced organic, advanced inorganic, and biochemistry.
You can pursue research opportunities, work within a curriculum of core and elective courses, and customize a program of study to meet your specific needs. As one chemistry professor remarked, PC chemistry majors use instruments here they are not able to use in a large university undergraduate setting. That means better preparation for graduate school and, ultimately, your career.

⭐ Graduate Programs
PC is proud to offer three graduate programs in the health sciences.
Physician Assistant Studies
If you’re passionate about health care, becoming a physician assistant may be just the path for you.
Physician assistants practice in numerous areas including family medicine, emergency medicine, surgery, psychiatry, oncology, plastic surgery, dermatology, neurology, and many other areas. Presbyterian College Physician Assistant Studies Program students engage in the practices of medicine, examination of patients, ordering diagnostics tests, assisting in surgery, and performing medical research.
Established in 1880, Presbyterian College is home to many outstanding graduates. Our motto is Dum Vivimus Servimus—“While We Live, We Serve”—and we take that to heart. Our graduates venture out into the world with an understanding of service, community, and apply these fundamentals in their career and day-to-day life.

Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program
PC’s OTD degree is a post-baccalaureate, entry-level professional doctoral degree. While in this three-year program, you will receive educational instruction inside the classroom that integrates the occupational therapy profession’s:
- foundational knowledge requirements
- its basic theoretical tenets and perspectives
- and a strong didactic and clinical education focus
PC’s motto is Dum Vivimus Servimus, which is Latin for “While We Live, We Serve.” As a PC Occupational Therapy Doctorate student, you’ll live the motto by learning skills inside and outside the classroom that will help you serve your community.

School of Pharmacy
The PC School of Pharmacy's mission is to provide a quality education that enables delivery of optimal team-based patient care, fosters leadership, and creates a culture of service. In order to fulfill this mission, our top priority is the creation of an environment and opportunities that stimulate our faculty, students, and practitioners to learn, maintain, and expand upon the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to meet the health care needs of the patients they serve.
As for programs, we offer seven and eight year tracks. Students can even earn a PharmD in six years with our Early Entry Pre-Pharmacy Program. Yep. That's right — Six years!
Here are a few other benefits to the Early-Entry Pre-Pharmacy Program:
- Seat reserved at the PC School of Pharmacy
- Abbreviated application process
- PCAT is not required for admission to PC School of Pharmacy
