Applying to PC
Interested in being a Blue Hose? Here are few things to keep in mind as you navigate the admission process.
Application Requirements:
- Submit the PC Application, Common Application, or Coalition Application
- Provide a copy of your high school transcript
- Submit SAT/ACT scores, unless applying test-optional
- Answer the short answer questions
Test-Optional:
Do you feel as if your test scores are an accurate reflection of your academic ability? If so, applying test-optional probably isn’t for you. However, if you feel that your performance in your high school coursework is a better reflection of your academic ability than your ACT or SAT scores, you can choose not to include your test scores in the admission process.

Scholarships & Financial Aid
PC offers all the benefits of a small, private liberal arts institution at the cost of a large flagship public school. In fact, each year we invest over $24 million in scholarships and financial aid. Not too shabby, right? Check out below to learn more about scholarships and financial aid.
- Merit Scholarships: Our merit scholarships ranges from $10,000 to $25,000 per year. To be considered for a merit scholarship, all you need to do is complete our application for admission.
- Griffith Scholarship: The Griffith Scholarship covers the full cost of tuition, room, board, and fees for up to four years of undergraduate study at PC. Two Griffith Scholars are selected each year based on their exceptional academic achievement, leadership ability and potential, and outstanding personal character.
- PC Promise Scholarship: South Carolina students who qualify for the SC Life Scholarship and are eligible to receive the Federal Pell Grant may receive this combined financial aid award that covers the cost of tuition.
- Financial Aid: Financing your college career is a collaborative effort – merit scholarships, on one hand, help tackle the overall cost of your college degree, leaving financial aid to help cover the remaining balance. 100% of this year’s incoming class received financial assistance, including scholarships, non-repayable grants, educational loans, and part-time work-study. To be considered for any need-based financial aid (including grants and loans), you should submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Application Deadlines
Early Action is a non-binding admission plan that will allow you to receive an early admission decision without the obligation to commit early. Your non-refundable enrollment deposit is due by June 1. Meeting this application deadline qualifies you for all merit scholarships, including the Griffith Scholarship.
Regular Decision qualifies you for consideration for the remaining merit-based and music scholarships. Applications are still accepted after the priority date if you are interested in applying for Regular Decision.
Applying after March 15? All applications received after the Regular Decision notification date will be evaluated on a rolling basis. This means the Office of Admission reviews and makes admission decisions on applications as they are completed.
