In addition to fostering analytical reasoning and problem-solving ability which employers value, the study of mathematics opens a wide variety of career doors.
After Graduation
Over the past few years, math majors from PC have entered a variety of fields. Some have entered graduate school to do graduate work in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, and civil engineering.
Recent graduates have completed master and doctoral studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Ohio State University, Arizona State University, Clemson University, the College of Charleston, Georgia State University, and Wake Forest University.
Several graduates have taken jobs teaching in public schools, while others have chosen careers in business, government, or industry, including such areas as accounting and environmental research.

About the Psychology Program
Whether you choose to be a psychology major or just take a few classes, you will find the psychology courses at Presbyterian College offer exciting activities and experiential learning ranging from observing people’s behavior to dissecting a brain to collecting and analyzing data as part of a psychology research project.
The psychology major at Presbyterian College provides students with knowledge and skills useful for many career options or graduate studies. Classes in PC’s sociology department will challenge you to increase your awareness of the complexities of different societies. The curriculum is designed to stimulate your intellectual growth and prepare you to participate in the local, national, and world communities.
About the Sociology Program
Sociology examines the forces that shape your life at both the broad societal level and the level of daily interactions. It addresses a variety of intellectual as well as policy- related issues and concerns, such as socioeconomic and demographic change, social institution (such as law, medicine, education, the family, politics, the professions), and the structure of social inequality.

Some even continue their education and become lawyers, ministers, social service agency administrators, or even sociology professors. Preparation for law school is a demanding and continuous process for many students. The Pre-law Program at PC aims to educate and advise our students – both inside and outside of the classroom – about law school and the practice of law and enable them to develop the skills necessary to be successful as law school applicants, students, and graduates.
Admission to law school does not require any specific course of study. Departments offering programs developed as prelaw training are: economics and business administration, English, history, and political science.
