Travel courses to Australia, the Galapagos Islands, Patagonia, Africa, and other locations extend the Presbyterian College biology experience beyond our classrooms and throughout the world. Our affiliate program with the Gulf Coast Marine Laboratory in Ocean Springs, MS offer additional educational development.

In the age of big data, there is a need for individuals who are skilled at finding meaningful patterns in the mountains of numbers. Professionals in the field of computational biology see more than numbers when interpreting data. They see the cure for cancer. They see drug resistance in disease-causing pathogens. They see the genetic changes associated with a disease. They see answers.

Our computational biology program will allow you to explore a variety of academic disciplines, including biology, math, computer science, and medical physics. The curriculum will enhance your analytical skills and ability to recognize patterns. Pairing the academic breadth of this program with abundant research opportunities will help you realize your potential for analyzing biological data so that you can help answer pressing biological questions.

Students interested in the medical and dental field must follow a rigorous schedule to qualify for admissions into medical and dental schools or programs. Most students will need to be prepared for post-graduate admissions tests during their junior year at PC.

Students interested in pharmacy can take courses necessary for admission to a pharmacy school. Pharmacy schools have varying requirements for admission; our advisors work with our students to determine the best route and the appropriate schedule of courses to stay on track.

Students interested in entering a veterinary medicine program will be assigned an advisor who will help them arrange their courses at PC to fulfill the specific requirements of the veterinary medicine school of their choice.

Students interested in careers in allied health professions often spend two or three years at PC and then transfer to a medical university or other professional schools to complete the training in such fields as nursing, radiologic technology, physical therapy, and medical technology.
