The chapel is a popular location for religious gatherings as well as big lectures, concerts, and other events with the building sitting over 500 people. It also currently houses the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and Contemplative Practices.

The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and Contemplative Practices helps students integrate lives of passionate commitment, embodied practice, and intellectual critique. Our programs offer opportunities for spiritual and democratic formation for the religiously devoted, the spiritually curious, and the radically questioning.
Organizations
Vassar has 11 religious and spiritual student organizations. These organizations are dedicated to creating an inclusive community for both practicing and curious students. They also hold many events throughout the year, such as religious dinners/meals, prayer meetings, group study sessions, lectures, and more. Some of our bigger events include the Religious and Spiritual Life Day (an annual gathering to celebrate religious and spiritual life), Thanksgiving HungerFAST (discusses global hunger issues), and our monthly Walking Meditation event.
