Jeh Vincent Johnson ALANA Cultural Center
The Jeh Vincent Johnson ALANA Cultural Center (1993) offers a wide range of support and resources for students of color and houses many of the identity-based student organizations. The creation of the space was actually a result of student demands, and today it is home to around 15 student organizations and many events.
Affinity Organizations
⭐ Affinity Organizations
The ALANA-affiliated student organizations within the ALANA center provide a myriad of resources for students of color and programs that foster cultural, social, academic, and creative expressions. There are also opportunities for leadership development, intra-cultural and cross-cultural dialogues, lectures, and opportunities to engage with faculty and administrators across campus.
Resources
The director, Kevin Collins, meets with students to discuss and offer support on any personal, academic, and/or general college life matter. Collins also assists student leaders in event planning and implementation.
Additionally, students of color can find tremendous academic support, career advising, leadership training, local fieldwork opportunities, and peer mentoring opportunities here. The center is also a great space for study breaks and artistic expression and support.
