Excerpts of MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech can be found on the stone tablets at the end of the reflection pond. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza
This plaza is modeled after the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The centerpiece, a bust of Dr. King, overlooks a reflecting pool across from an inclined granite monument displaying a major segment of the "I Have A Dream" speech.
Five granite bands extend from the base of the bust, pointing toward five cities where important events occurred in Dr. King's life. You can find the city names inscribed at the end of each band.
This monument is a testament to USF's welcoming community, where you can learn alongside students from all walks of life and different perspectives.
