In our social science, business, arts and humanities programs, you’ll be well prepared to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving job market. You’ll hone the skills of your chosen academic path or profession, as well as the habits of mind — like critical thinking — that employers are always looking for, and the life skills you need to feel confident and comfortable in any social or professional situation.
You’ll have access to an extensive network of business and community partnerships across Maine and New England, and even overseas. In fact, we’ve been named the #1 college or university in Maine for graduates getting a job for three years in a row.

🔬 Makerspace
Our Makerspace is located in Decary Hall, which is quite a busy place throughout the year — and especially during our Student Innovation Challenge. Here, students are building, creating, and using innovation and entrepreneurial action on projects like solar-powered charging stations, underwater drone, and new therapies for stroke patients.
You don’t need to be a technology buff or a business major to contribute. In fact, Makerspace projects are stronger when the people who contribute come from a wide range of academic disciplines and have different interests. That’s why we make a point of being accessible to all students regardless of program or major — reinforcing UNE’s unique commitment to interdisciplinary and interprofessional teaching and learning.
