Flexible Distribution Requirements

Welcome Center

⭐ Flexible Distribution Requirements

With the goal of giving undergraduates a broad education beyond their major, Rice has established flexible distribution requirements as part of the requirements for graduation. By the time they graduate, students must take classes in each of the humanities, social sciences and applied sciences. Rice builds flexibility into the requirements so that students have the freedom to select the courses that interest them most.

⭐ Welcome Center

We will return to the Office of Admission this summer, and we are offering self-guided tours. If you are unable to sign up for a tour, you are welcome to visit Rice University on your own provided you adhere to our visitor policies. To stay up-to-date on our future visit options, continue to check this website and make sure you are on our mailing list by completing the Request Information form.
