✨ Center for Student Engagement

This area of the Center for Student Engagement (CSE) in the Donius University Center (DUC) houses over 140 student organizations, anything ranging from club and intramural sports to academic program groups. Can’t find an organization right for you? Just find three friends and an advisor and you can start your own!

Student Events

We host over 3,000 events every year, so there is always something happening on campus! Here is a taste of what you can expect to experience – UWOW (University Week of Welcome), Family Weekend, President’s Holiday Celebration, Bingo & Brew, Taste of Latin America, Homecoming, and more!

Pillar Organizations

Our pillar organizations on campus are comprised on Association of Black Collegians (ABC), Campus Activities Board (CAB), Committee on New ‘N Existing Campus Traditions (CONNECT), Go Saints, Hawaiian Asian Pacific Islander Association (HAPA), Inclusion at Maryville (IAM), Latinx Student Alliance (LSA), Maryville University Gender & Sexuality Association (MUGSA), and Maryville Student Government (MSG). Learn about all of these and more at our annual Involvement Fair held the first week of classes!

Cultural Organizations

Maryville students have established a number of cultural organizations to allow all students to celebrate, appreciate, and learn about different cultures around the world. These include: International Student Association, Asian Square, Bosnia & Herzegovina Student Association, LatinX Student Alliance, Middle Eastern Student Association, Muslim Student Association, South Asian Student Alliance, and more!

⭐ Diversity & Inclusion

The Office of Diversity & Inclusion advises 16 social and cultural awareness organizations within Student Involvement. They focus on developing inclusive programming for the campus community and encourage students to interact with and learn about their own and different cultures.

D&I Recognition

Maryville University was the 2018 recipient of the Corporate Diversity Award, presented by the St. Louis American Foundation. Maryville also received the 2019 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.

Multicultural Scholars Program

Our Multicultural Scholars Program is a full credit-bearing program. Participants will receive 8 credits that focus on DEI & social justice education. Student interested in participating in the Multicultural Scholars Program can apply for the program when applying to Maryville University.

D&I Programs

Maryville is offering two new programs through our Office of Diversity & Inclusion. The first is a new inclusive institute for any student who wants social justice and leadership training. The second is a new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Student Advisory Committee to reassure student concerns and voices are heard regarding social justice issues. This department also offered 54 presentations for the 2020-2021 school year that focused on DEI, social justice training and development, and Safe Zone LGBTQIA+ training.

⭐ Service & Spiritual Life

The Office of Service and Spiritual Life in Maryville supports students, faculty and staff of all faiths. Through co-curricular opportunities that support Maryville’s desire to educate the whole person, we assist them with their spiritual and personal growth.
