About Cottey
Welcome to Cottey College, a dynamic four-year independent arts and sciences institution for women! Located in Nevada, Missouri, about 90 miles from Kansas City, we are a nationally and regionally-ranked college that helps students develop into who they want to be.
Founded by Virginia Alice Cottey in 1884, Cottey College was gifted to the P.E.O. Sisterhood, a philanthropic educational organization, in 1927. For over 90 years, the College, our alumnae, and the P.E.O. Sisterhood have worked together to realize Virginia Alice Cottey’s vision that women should have excellent educational opportunities.
Each year, students from across the U.S. and as many as 20 different countries are part of our campus. We hope that you will join us!
