Samuelson Chapel
Samuelson Chapel is, of course, a chapel, but it's also home to our campus ministry programs and hosts a number of musical, academic, cultural, religious, and special events throughout the year. You'll also find Pastor Scott, Pastor Melissa, and Rabbi Belle here—they are awesome and always fun to hang out with!

⭐ Faith Community
We provide experiences in which students can express and explore their own faith as well as journey with others of different religious and philosophical beliefs and backgrounds.
⭐ Religion
The Religion major allows students to explore their passions, interests, and ideas in an inclusive, student-centered environment. Students study religion at the intersections of culture, history, politics, ethics, conflict, and peace.
The religion major engages students through faculty-mentored research, service and experiential learning, and a flexible curriculum, as our students strive to understand the complex role that religion plays in the world today.

The Curriculum
The religion degree program at Cal Lutheran provides a solid grounding for students to engage with diverse religious traditions both locally and globally. This program supports the liberal arts emphasis of the University and prepares students to understand and negotiate the myriad complexities of religion they will face after graduation, whether they work in business, local government, social services, education, medicine, administration, sales, or the environment.
Students construct their own individualized emphasis that will prepare them for a variety of careers or further study. The major is structured in a way to allow for the potential to double major in Religion and Political Science, Philosophy, Environmental Science, Communication, Sociology, and more. The Religion minor is also a great complement to many Cal Lutheran academic majors.
Opportunities exist for students to pursue internships, experiential learning, and independent studies, allowing them to explore areas of potential career interest. Students majoring in religion graduate from Cal Lutheran well-prepared for public leadership in diverse religious communities as well as professional studies.
