🌺 Traditions
They make Wellesley, Wellesley. And they make you feel a part of something bigger than yourself. Here are a few examples…
Flower Sunday
The oldest and most beloved, where bigs meet littles in a multifaith, multicultural celebration featuring dance, poetry, song, moving speeches, tight hugs, etc., etc.
Hoop Rolling
This one’s simple: Roll a hoop. Win the race. Get tossed into Lake Waban.
Step Singing
The singing of songs and the cheering of cheers...on steps. Ahhh, inter-class rivalry at its finest.
Marathon Monday
Wellesley students, the Boston Marathon, and a quarter mile long scream tunnel heard over a mile away.
🛐 Houghton Memorial Chapel and Multifaith Center
Gracefully serene and open to all faiths. With sacred spaces for Wellesley’s religious, spiritual, and secular communities, which include, but are not even close to limited to, Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian (of many sects), Hindu, Humanist, Jewish, Muslim, Native American, and Sikh.
