McKissick Museum/Visitor Center (Ghost Tour)
👻 The Custodian
We will end our story tonight at McKissick, the home of the Visitor Center and the University’s Museum. This building was formerly used as the University’s second library and named for J. Rion McKissick, a former student (Class of 1905) and president of the University (1936-44). One might think that this building would be haunted by unruly students who perished over their homework, but no, workers in this building have reported sightings of a ghostly man who they believe faithfully worked as a University custodian for a large portion of his life during the mid 1900’s. Stories of the ghost include apparitional sightings within the building at night, doors being mysteriously opened, items being moved to different sides of the hall, lights turning on and off, and inexplicable, moving shadows to turn on the security cameras’ feed during the night.
