Athletics at Tufts: Go Jumbos!
Jumbo determination. Jumbo success. Jumbo pride. We have it all. A NCAA Division III school and member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), we compete in 28 varsity sports. With 11 team national championships, 67 individual championships, 25 college sailing national championships, and 69 NESCAC championships, Jumbos are great competitors. Jumbos have also enjoyed recent success in the The Learfield Directors' Cup, which is a joint program of the NCAA Directors of Athletics and USA Today ranking overall strength of institutions' NCAA teams, where Tufts finished first in 2021-22 and 4th in 2022-23. Add 28 club sports—from ice hockey and water polo to Taekwondo and Ultimate Frisbee—and a limitless selection of intramural sports. That's Jumbo athletics.
