Joseph L. Alioto Recreation Center
Our Rec Center newly opened in March 2015. Prior to its opening, Madigan Gym and the Power Plant (seen later on the tour, near the University Credit Union Pavilion) were the only fitness facilities on campus. They have now been transitioned into serving exclusively the D1 athletes, and the Rec Center serves all students and staff on campus. There are group fitness classrooms, weightlifting facilities, a spin class room, a swimming pool with hydrotherapy spa, indoor basketball and soccer courts, a rock wall, and cardio equipment.

🏆 Club Teams
Compete in the national quarterfinals with club rugby. Take the lead as captain of the intramural dodgeball team. Road-trip to Reno for a women’s club soccer game. Intramural leagues and club sports are a big part of the student experience and an easy way to have fun while breaking a sweat. Looking for a sport we don’t have yet? You can start your own! Just last year we added our newest club sport: the SMC Rodeo Team!
