Religious Life

⭐ Religious Life

Princeton is nondenominational, and has a number of vibrant religious communities on campus, all coordinated through the Office of Religious Life.

University Chapel

The University Chapel is nondenominational and holds ecumenical services offered by the Dean and the Associate Dean of Religious Life each Sunday morning and various denominational services throughout the week. Throughout the academic year, the University also holds a few ceremonies in the chapel (one of the few spaces on campus that is large enough to hold an entire graduating class) such as opening exercises, baccalaureate, and a service of remembrance for alumni who passed in the preceding year.

The Office of Religious Life

The Office of Religious Life (ORL) represents the University’s care and support for the many religious communities that flourish on its campus. ORL supports and encourages interfaith activities, as well as activities that are unique to each faith tradition. Murray-Dodge Hall, which houses the religious life offices and the Muslim prayer room, provides a home for meetings, community services, worship, study and informal gatherings. The ministry of the ORL includes ecumenical Christian worship, the Chapel Choir, the Gospel Ensemble and the Religious Life Council. There are also over 30 student groups and variety of chaplaincies affiliated with the ORL, representing a broad spectrum of faiths and denominations.
