The Center for Exploratory Students
The Center for Exploratory Students works with first-year students by providing personalized, developmental academic advising services. Each student works with an advisor, who helps them figure out a career path that fits their interests. Their goal is to help students confidently declare a major by the end of their first year.
Center for Academic Retention & Enhancement (CARE)
The Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE) (care.fsu.edu) was created at the Florida State University in 1968 as Horizons Unlimited. In 1978, the Summer Enrichment Program was established to provide a transition support program for minority students enrolling at FSU. CARE’s mission is to help students who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education enroll, persist, and graduate from college by providing them with the resources, tools, and network of support to aid in their academic and personal development.
Our Summer Bridge Program (SBP), with a historical legacy of success, provides transition and engagement services to over 400 first-time college students each summer. The program assists First Generation and Pell grant eligible students with the necessary academic and social skills to familiarize themselves with the campus and prepare them for collegiate success. SBP helps students develop habits vital for their success at FSU. It has grown into the most comprehensive program of its kind nationally and is an example of FSU’s commitment to access and student success. CARE and FSU understand the need for the continual support of our students throughout the college experience. Students continue active participation in CARE beyond the summer term. CARE’s year-round Academic Support Services continues the tradition of academic excellence.

Office of Accessibility Services
The Office of Accessibility (OAS) Services focuses on ensuring universal access for every FSU student through academic, housing, and dining accommodations, as well as testing and technological assistance.
