Birmingham-Southern College has a holistic admission process. Because of this, we have two application pathways. Our standard application takes into account a student’s test scores, high school GPA, etc. But, we recognize that test scores are not necessarily an indicator of a student’s academic ability, which is why also have a test-optional application. We are proud to say that we were the first institution in Alabama to give this opportunity to our students.

Every student admitted to Birmingham-Southern College is awarded a merit-based scholarship based on their application. This means that all admitted students receive some kind of financial aid that will not have to be paid back. Because Birmingham-Southern is a private institution, we do not have out-of-state tuition. The tuition rate is the same for every student.
