Social Hub: Union West

The University Union serves as the hub for student activities. It's home to The MarketPlace for retail dining, the University Bookstore, an ATM and bank, Food Co-op, bowling and the Student Association, which has more than 450 student-run clubs and organizations representing the diverse interests, cultures and talents of our students. Career-oriented? Network with like-minded students in pre-professional groups like the Pre-medical Association or Mock Trial Club. Love to dance, act, sing or make people laugh? Binghamton has clubs for all of these interests. We have several dance troupes, a cappella groups, improv comedy groups, theater productions and music ensembles.

Fraternity and Sorority Life

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life is also located inside. There are 55 fraternities and sororities, a diverse mix of groups with the hope that everyone who wants to join finds one that closely matches their values and personality. All our groups support different philanthropies and causes and each have their own traditions.

Transportation

There’s plenty to keep you busy on campus, but it’s also easy to get to downtown Binghamton to explore city life. No car? No worries! Students can catch the bus from the Union and ride for free with their student ID. In less than 15 minutes, you can enjoy a wide array of entertainment including theaters, locally owned specialty restaurants, the Binghamton Philharmonic, Tri-Cities Opera, two professional sports teams, art galleries and museums.
