The Davis Center

⭐ The Davis Center

Morley Circle is the home of the Davis Center. The Davis Center is comprised of three buildings: Jenness, Hardy and Rice House. The Center was founded in 1989 by student activists to encourage equity, social justice and representation of historically marginalized groups at Williams.

The Davis Center serves the needs of all cultural groups on campus. The staff at the DC uses a three-pronged approach to inclusivity by:
•Providing holistic advising and development to individual students or student groups, including the Minority Coalition (MinCo), a collection of affinity groups based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and more.
•Providing consultation and training for faculty, staff and students.
•Building connections within the broader campus community and beyond through partnerships with organizations in the region.

The center’s intersectional framework acknowledges the importance and interaction of various identities on campus and recognizes the value of coalition-building across groups.

The Davis Center sponsors a variety of programming throughout the year, and has recently hosted lunches, campus-wide lectures and film screenings on topics such as environmental justice and racial educational disparities, among many others.

We’re also excited to have broken ground on a major renovation of the Davis Center, offering students a modern space to connect, cook a group meal, watch a movie, or plan for and host campus campaigns, lectures, film series and more.
