🔬🧪 More on the Science Complex

The Integrated Science Complex — complete with the state-of-the-art Smith Labs as well as Haberlin Hall — takes those innovations further: uniting student and faculty researchers from across scientific disciplines, as well as stimulating more collaboration and sharing of sophisticated equipment.

🍜😋 The Science of Eating

Featuring an award-winning menu, D'Agostino Cafe is located in the contemporary Swords Atrium within the Integrated Science Complex. Quickly prepared and simply delicious, you’ll enjoy customer favorites like as our bagel breakfast sandwiches and local soups.

💧 Technology and Environment

The complex was constructed with the highest standards of energy efficiency and innovative environmentally-friendly elements, such as an energy recovery wheel that captures and reuses heat from air being exhausted from the building.

👩🏻‍🔬👨🏻‍🔬🧪 Chemistry Labs

The approach to teaching chemistry at Holy Cross is distinct from most schools, in that it integrates lecture and lab, with lab driving the course in order to introduce concepts through student application of the scientific method, as done in research.

📚 Some Light Reading

The O’Callahan Science Library, which has over 95,000 physical volumes and increasing numbers of electronic products, occupies the entire first floor of Swords Hall, the central portion of the five-building Integrated Science Complex. The Science Library subscribes to over 50 major article databases just in the science disciplines, which contain access to thousands of journals. The Library serves the Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics & Computer Science, and Physics Departments and the more neuroscientific side of Psychology.
