York River Hall
Christopher Newport has been consistently ranked as having some of the finest residence halls in the country. Students are far more successful academically and socially when they live on campus, so all CNU first-time freshman students are required to live on campus for their first three years. Transfer students are not required to live on-campus but most choose to do so each year. Local students may be exempt from the residency requirement, but the vast majority choose to live on campus.

⭐ Learning Communities
All freshmen are placed into a Learning Community based on their interests, which facilitates a successful transition from high school to college. Living and sharing multiple classes with a small group of students and collaborating with faculty will promote learning beyond the classroom, while providing extra support.
