Presser includes a 240-seat acoustically-superior recital hall with a large tracker organ and superior digital recording equipment, large and small ensemble rehearsal rooms, modern computer and piano laboratories, ensemble libraries and offices, practice rooms (many with grand pianos), teaching studios, multi-media classrooms, seminar rooms, and a student lounge.

The Alumni Building houses the Black Cultural Center, the Carter G. Woodson Center for Interracial Education, the Espacio Cultural Latinx, the Student Life Offices, the Alumni Association Offices, the Mountaineer Dining Hall, and the Ground Floor.

This is the Mountaineer Dining Hall. The food is served buffet style and there are multiple stations. About 10 % of all the greens in Mountaineer Dining Hall come from the Berea College farm. Making it a wonderful farm to table option! Everything in our dining hall is also 100% sustainable. From the napkins you use to the food you don’t eat - everything will be composted!

Black Cultural Center- based on the premise that true integration and equality cannot be achieved without general awareness, understanding and appreciation of Black culture. The Center also hosts mentoring programs which provide support and assistance to incoming students.

Carter G. Woodson Center for Interracial Education is named after Berea Alum Dr. Carter G. Woodson. Woodson is the founder of Black History Week - which later became Black History Month. He was the second African American to graduate from Harvard with a PHD, after W.E.B. DuBois. In his honor, the center is designed to promote interracial education.

The Espacio Cultural Latinx (or ECL)- provide Latinx community a safe space and build awareness and appreciation of Hispanic and Latinx culture through programming and activities. This is also a great gathering place for students to hang out when there aren’t programs being hosted!!

The Center for International Education (CIE) has four primary functions. First, International student support, bringing international and global programing to campus, study abroad opportunities, and international awareness.

The Department of Public Safety provides 24-hour service to the campus employing 16 full-time staff members. The campus goes above and beyond to ensure students are kept safe.

Counseling Services is only one part of this large building. Counseling is free and completely confidential service provided for students. Services offered are individual, group, couple, and crisis intervention are just to name a few. They also strive to create programs and content that helps end the stigma of seeking mental health.

Along with holding 300,000 volumes of books, Hutchins Library offers several programs and resources to assist students with their studies.

Lincoln Hall houses Financial Aid, Academic Services, Student Services, Disability & Accessibility Services, and many administrative offices. The building is also the second oldest on campus and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1975 for its significance in the history of the U.S. civil rights movement. In 2004 the building also became the first building in Kentucky to be awarded the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

Student Service Desk

Stephenson Hall houses the Loyal Jones Appalachian Center, the Center for Excellence in Learning Through Service, the Office of Student Success and Transition, Entrepreneurship for the Public Good, the Internships & Career Development Office, classrooms and many opportunities for meetings and collaboration.

CELTS hosts many volunteer opportunities: Adopt a Grandparent Berea Buddies, Habitat for Humanity, Hispanic Outreach Program, and more. CELTS also oversees our Bonner Scholar Program.

The Office of Student Success & Transition is responsible for designing and hosting Summer Connections and Orientation Events which help students in their transition to college. Throughout a student's first year at Berea, support is in place for students through programs, classes, and mentoring at the OSST Office.

Berea can cover expenses for students doing unpaid internships in the United States (for up to two internships)! We can also offer students with funds for transportation, dining, housing, and will even compensate students with the remainder of funds once they return.

Berea’s Mathematics Department is well-known for its caring faculty and strong programs.

The Loyal Jones Appalachian Center is an educational space designed to provide resources about our Appalachian Heritage. It holds one of the largest collections of Appalachian artifacts and memorabilia, such as a free Dolly Parton pinball machine.

Hafer-Gibson houses the Labor Program Office, Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety, and Conference Services.

Students work in hundreds of jobs in more than 120 different departments. Every student earns a Labor Transcript, which documents the labor positions they have held and how well they performed at each job. Students are required to complete at least 10 hours a week. Students earn a monthly paycheck and their pay level varies between jobs.

Writing Resources is a campus center where students, faculty, and staff can receive help with their writing process at any stage! They are trained to assist Berea students in writing as well as all other forms of communication. Consultants must complete a quarter-credit course during their first semester and complete ongoing training throughout their time with Writing Resources.

Here at IS&S, Professional Staff and students provide tech help, training, and support. They update and maintain our internet connection and email privacy. IS&S provides students with a dropbox where students can back up virtually all of their files. This is so we can securely save our papers and documents without the fear of losing them if our computers break or crash. IS&S is over our Laptop program, as all incoming Berea students will receive the latest model of the Dell Latitude laptop.

While Christianity is embedded in our founding, Berea College is not a “Bible School” in the way many Christian colleges are. It is a part of our commitment to wellness that we encourage our students to explore spirituality, in whatever way that means to them. While we hold Christian services in this space, we invite all students use this space for prayer, mediation, or music.

Berea College has a high academic quality that we pride ourselves with. We have many programs like the nationally ranked nursing program and many others. Our average classroom size- 14 students & student-to-faculty ratio is 10 to 1.

Berea offers students a free gym membership while community members must pay a fee to use the equipment. The gym is not open 24/7, but students are invited to use the facility and the pool during their open hours.Seabury holds multiple practice courts, dance and yoga studios, an indoor track, and a pool.

The office of President Dr. Cheryl L. Nixon is in Lincoln Hall. She is Berea's 10th President but the first woman to hold the office. We welcomed her and her husband to the President's Home in Summer 2023 and we are looking forward to the many ways they plan to build community here on campus.

Our pool is classroom sized, which is perfect for our swim class. In fact, it is a graduation requirement that students be able to show proficient survival swimming skills. Our pool also hosts the beginning levels of classes that require scuba diving.

We offer athletic training and rehabilitation for injured student athletes. This is led by two full-time professionals as well as student workers. There are also courses which teach the fundamentals of weight training and plenty of open hours for students to work-out on their own using the equipment.

Go Mountaineers!! Seabury holds two arenas including our main court downstairs and our smaller court on the second floor.

At Berea College, we offer a rigorous foundation in Biology, coupled with a strong liberal arts curriculum.

The Department of Chemistry offers a full set of courses designed to prepare students for: Graduate study, Medical school, Secondary education, and Work in the chemical industry.

In keeping with the aims and commitment of Berea College, the mission of the Nursing Department is to prepare students with great promise and limited economic resources for the practice of professional nursing in a variety of health care settings, and to provide a foundation for graduate study in nursing.

The Physics department offers a rigorous, comprehensive curriculum that is designed to prepare students to enter graduate schools or private industry, and to provide a liberal arts degree to students who are interested in careers such as engineering, medicine, computer science, and secondary science teaching.

The Career Development Office offers weekly workshops, class presentations and collaborative programs as well as 1-1 resume reviews, assistance with cover letter writing, interview coaching and mock interviews. They also make sure that you know your market value and practice negotiating a competitive salary
