Mountainlair

The Mountainlair serves as the central hub for our downtown area of campus. The building provides food, fun and function for students passing through!

Student Life

🌟 Student Life

While the time students spend inside the classroom is extremely important, the time outside the classroom can make all the difference too. Maximize your college experience by exploring ways to get involved, find your people, and most importantly, have fun!

WVUp All Night

WVUp All Night is an award-winning late-night program for students on weekends that takes place right here in the Mountainlair. The program, the first of its kind in the United States, started in 1998. It takes place each Friday and Saturday evening during the fall and spring semesters and offers free games and activities, snacks, breakfast, volunteer opportunities and tutoring sessions. In the past, WVUp All Night has hosted indoor ice skating, mechanical bull riding, and even a fan favorite: build-a-bear workshops!

Student Population Statistics

As of fall 2021, WVU total system enrollment is 28,267. Students at the Morgantown campus come from 112 nations, 49 U.S. states (plus D.C.) and all 55 West Virginia counties; 11,792 are West Virginia residents. The student population is 47% male and 53% female. Morgantown campus enrollment includes: 18,641 undergraduates, 5,875 graduate students, and 1,420 international students.

Project 168

At WVU, what a student learns outside of the classroom is just as important as what they learn during class. Project 168 is a way to formally recognize this and provide a credential for extracurricular effort. Project 168 is a self-paced, co-curricular experience that will offer a minimum of 50 opportunities to engage in ten competency areas.

Student Organizations

WVU has over 500+ student organizations, everything from cultural and religious organizations to club sports to major-related groups.

WVU Arts and Entertainment

WVU's Box Office provides discounted student tickets to shows all across campus. The College of Creative Arts hosts student shows and professional performers alike, and the WVU Coliseum is regularly transformed into a major concert venue, hosting artists such as Maroon 5, J Cole, Brad Paisley, and more!
