💻 School of Computing

Majors within UNF’s School of Computing include Information Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, and Computer Science.  In Fall 2020, UNF received a $500,000 award from the National Security Agency to develop healthcare cybersecurity curriculum for military and first responders.

Computing Jobs and Internships

Many computing students participate in paid internships throughout their program duration. After graduation, job placements usually pay an average wage of $17 per hour and provide invaluable local networking opportunities.

📡 School of Engineering

Our engineering programs, located in Skinner-Jones Hall (Building 4) are known for interdisciplinary hands-on education, paid internship opportunities, and high employment rates. We offer Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. We also offer a BS in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and an MS in Materials Science and Engineering.

💡 Engineering In-Practice

Our engineering students are engaged in local and national engineering competitions like the Concrete Canoe Competition for civil engineers, Osprey Car Design, Build and Racing club for mechanical engineers, and Robotics for electrical and mechanical engineers.

We have partnerships in the industry for senior design projects, internships, and employment. Our engineering graduates are highly sought after by industry.  UNF students in this program have a partnership with Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital to create toy cars for children with disabilities as part of the adaptive toy project.

👷 Department of Construction Management

The Construction Management major also has near 100% job placement within the first 6 months of graduation. In 2016-17, our graduates went out into the workforce with a starting salary of $62,000 a year.

Construction Management Experience

All students complete internships paying an average of $15 an hour. Some of our students were able to observe the construction sites on-campus during renovation of Skinner-Jones  Hall. Additionally, many attractions at the Jacksonville Zoo were worked on by UNF graduates !
