22nd & G Street

The cross streets of 22nd and G house several academic, administrative, and athletic buildings including the Smith Center, Funger and Duques Hall, GWPD, and GW's Emergency Medical Response Group (EMeRG).

At 22nd & G streets, our tour guides typically discuss safety measures, fraternities, and sororities, athletics, and the Lerner Heath and Wellness center.

Our campus has many safety measures including a blue light system, an app that works as a moving blue light system, and GW Safe Ride so that during evening hours students can feel comfortable getting around campus if need be.

We also have our GWPD office which works to keep campus safe. If ever need be, GWPD officers will respond to call within two minutes. Additionally, we have GW EMeRG, which will respond to students if there is ever a medical emergency and will asses the situation and take care of the student.

Around 25% of students are in a fraternity or sorority. It is a presence on campus, but never a pressure. They have a delayed rush that starts in January.

GW is a division 1 athletics school with many different sports teams. Our basketball teams are a student favorite. If a student wants to play a sport but doesn't want the commitment of a D1 team, they can play on our numerous club and intramural teams.

If a student wants to workout but does not want to play a sport they can visit the Lerner Health and Wellness center. This is a fully stocked gym where students can workout and stay fit.
