Thurston Hall is a first-year residence hall and GW icon. The building received a large-scale renovation prior to the 2022-2023 school year to focus on community and sustainability. It also opened with a LEED Gold rating from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Thurston Hall features a new GW Dining Hall in the basement. 16 study lounges are spread throughout the entire building, and residents also have access to a communal kitchen and a communal TV area with couches.
The 7th-floor terrace and penthouse study lounge with ping pong have gorgeous views of the Washington Monument. The central courtyard provides additional study spaces and hangout spaces for all students to enjoy.
A hub desk in the lobby area is available to provide evening resources, supplies, and a contact point for residents.
