Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center
The Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center is the hub of activity at Syracuse University. Dedicated in 1985, the Schine Student Center was designed by Edward Larrabee Barnes as a three-level building with four wings that pinwheel off a central atrium covered by a lantern-shaped glass roof. The Schine Student Center houses the 1,500-seat Goldstein Auditorium, multiple small and medium-sized event spaces, Schine Dining Center, campus store, meeting rooms, lounges, and offices.

⭐ Schine Student Center - Student Engagement
In May 2019, renovations began to transform the Schine Student Center to fulfill its original mission as the “living room” of campus – a place for students to eat, gather, study and lounge. Based on robust outreach efforts and student feedback, the renovated Schine Student Center features an opened, vibrant central atrium, upgraded dining experience, enhanced accessibility, centralized spaces for student activities, including the co-location of the University’s cultural centers to further promote and celebrate inclusion and intersectionality, and versatile spaces and seating to support student organization activities, studying, group meetings or lounging.
The Schine Student Center is the hub of student life on campus. The building offers students spaces for gathering, eating, socializing, studying and more. Additionally, the Student Centers and Programming Services staff can assist you in reserving the meeting spaces and event spaces throughout the building.
The food court includes a mix of local and national dining concepts, including Panda Express, CoreLife Eatery, The Halal Shack, Biscotti Café, Chocolate Pizza Company and The Tomato Wheel. Seating options include several “booth boxes” surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows on the perimeter of the dining area, along with high-top tables, counter-height seating with stools, and a variety of soft seating throughout the building. Dunkin’ is located at a stand-alone location off the building’s central atrium.
The Schine Student Center is home to the Disability Cultural Center, LGBTQ Resource Center and Multicultural Affairs. The Intercultural Collective promotes identity, inclusion, intersectionality and community.
Whether you are looking to join a Registered Student Organization (RSO), grow as a leader, have fun at an Orange After Dark activity, or learn about traditions, Student Activities within Schine provides you with all the ways to get involved and engaged on campus. The Student Activities Suite is also home to the Student Association, University Union and RSO spaces.
