Athletics

⚽ Athletics

There is something for everyone at Pitzer athletics, from competitive varsity sports to fun club sports to fitness classes for any level!

Pitzer/Pomona Sagehens

Pitzer College joins with Pomona College to field 21 varsity teams – The Sagehens – that compete in Division III NCAA athletics and as members of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). There are 10 men’s and 11 women’s teams: baseball (men), basketball, cross country, football (men), golf, lacrosse (women), soccer, softball (women), swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, volleyball (women) and water polo.

Club Sports

Club sports provide a recreational outlet for students in a competitive setting that is less formal and with a minimum of staff/faculty supervision. They also provide leadership opportunities for students through structuring and running a competitive and safe club sport. As such, club sports are a valuable part of the educational experience at The Colleges. The intent of the Club Sports Council is to preserve the atmosphere of these student-run organizations while providing a structure to assist with their viability on a smaller scale than intercollegiate athletics. Club sports include Men's Lacrosse, Men's Rugby, Men's Ultimate, Men's Volleyball, Women's Rugby, Women's Soccer, Women's Ultimate, Women's Volleyball, Badminton, Cycling, Equestrian, Fencing, Field Hockey, Roller/Ice Hockey, Tennis, Surfing.
