Kansas City metro is nearly 45 minutes from campus and offers a wide variety of arts and cultural events of a larger city.

Plaza 1907 is located in Ottawa, Kansas and has been named "oldest purpose-built cinema in operation in the world", having applied to Guinness World Records in June 2017 and beaten out a theatre in Denmark by two days. The theatre is part of the Downtown Ottawa Historic District, which was listed June 29, 1972.

The downtown is lit up and inviting each evening, but espeically around the holdiays. Host to a number of events throughou the year, downtown Ottawa, Kansas, thrives during the annual Old Marias de Cygnes River Run Car Show.

Legacy Square offers an open market feel with coverd parking options. The space is utilized for a variety of events such as outdoor concerts, farmers markets and church services.

Ottawa, Kansas, downtown offers a variety of stores and restaurants to enjoy, as well as plays host to a number of events throughout the year.

Evening life in downtown Lawrence provides a wide variety of offerings including shopping, live artists, theatre and more.

The Kansas City metro is located just northeast of Ottawa, Kansas, and offers a wide variety of events and activities in which to partake. In addition, the options for dining seem endless and wide-spread.

The Commons has served many purposes throughout the years. Currently it is the home of the Braves wrestling teams, as well as the Cheer, Dance and STUNT teams. Football coaching offces are also located within the building.

Ward Science Hall is one of the main academic buildings on campus.

The Hull Center for Athletics houses the athletic training room, administrative and coaching offices, as well as locker rooms for all varsity teams.

Martin Hall is the oldest residence hall on campus. It houses co-ed students in suite-style rooms, as well is the home to the O'Dell Lounge.

OU Lofts on Main Street are conveniently situated above Corner Market at the intersection of 4th and Main Streets.

Behan Hall is the home to the University Information Technology Department, as well as houses both PC and Mac computer labs for student / class use.

The Administration Building is one of the main academic buildings on campus. It also houses administrative offices such as the Office of the President, Student Life, Registrar, Student Accounts, Financial Aid, Enrollment/Admissions, and the Adawe LifePlan Center.

The University Apartments provide apartment-style living for upperclass students and is conveniently located a short distance from campus.

The Ottawa community enjoys walking, running, biking and jogging the Rails to Trails that run north and south through Ottawa, Kansas.

Students have the option to play pool and hang out within the Brown Hall lobby.

Just off the lobby, students have the option to utilize a kitchen area to prepare meals, study, hang out or eat together.

Atkinson Hall is home to the Braves music faculty, as well as the Fredrikson Center for Faith and Church Vitality. It also includes classroom space, a recording studio, and food pantry.

Brown Hall is a traditional-style housing option for coed students on campus. It is conveniently located on the northeast corner of campus.

The Creed Family Greenhouse is one of the newest additons to campus, erected in 2021. It is utliized by multiple departments on campus. Student research projects are also housed within its walls.

The Dick Peters Sports Complex is home to the Braves tennis, baseball and softball teams, as well as track and field throwers. There is also a turf field that is regulation size and utilized by a wide variety of varsity teams.

WIthin the walls of the Gibson Student Center, you will find the Hetrick Bistro for all your dining needs.

Gillette House is a historic home that has been converted into University-sponsored housing for upperclass coed students. It was donated by the Gillette family to the University. This home once served as Sheldon Hall a housing option for OU male students.

The Hull Family Sports Complex consists of AdventHealth Field at Ottawa University where the Braves take the field in football, flag football, lacrosse, and soccer. The field is turf and is surrounded by the Bill "Bo" Boucek Track. The track is a standard 8-lane rubberized surface and serves as home to the Braves track and field team.

Tauy Jones Hall is the original building when the University began. Within it's walls you will find the Business and FInance Department, Human Resources Office, University Advancement and Alumni Offices, as well as the Office of the University President and CEO.
