Honors, Scholars, and Fellows House

The Honors, Scholars, and Fellows House promotes a sense of community among our very brightest, most hard-working students and providing them support as they reach new levels of success. The house creates an environment in which students are encouraged to share creative ideas; build lasting relationships; discover new ways of thinking; and utilize programs, academic services, and mentorship opportunities. The house is located in the heart of campus, facing Landis Green.

Undergraduate Research

⭐ Honors in the Major (HITM)

The Honors in the Major Program (HITM) supports eligible students in completing and defending an honors thesis in their major, which serves to strengthen their post-graduate endeavors. Students of all disciplines may apply to HITM and pursue traditional research or creative projects.

⭐ University Honors Program

The University Honors Program is a community of high achieving students dedicated to success in academics and campus life. High school students can apply to University Honors while completing their general FSU application, and freshmen may apply for lateral admission to the program during their first fall semester.

As a member of University Honors, students have access to specialized honors advisors and can enroll in smaller honors classes, which provide closer interaction with classmates and professors, as well as greater opportunities for intellectual challenges. Within University Honors, students also take inquiry-based, interdisciplinary Honors Signature Courses, taught by honors instructors selected for their teaching expertise, innovative approach, and commitment to student success. Honors Signature Courses are further enriched by a variety of co- and extracurricular engagement experiences beyond the classroom, which serve to solidify and extend student learning.

University Honors students also have the opportunity for admission into a number of premier programs across campus: Presidential Scholars , Honors Legal Scholars, Seneff Honors Business Scholars, and Honors Medical Scholars.

⭐ Undergraduate Research

The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) at Florida State University provides students an engaging community with the flexibility and funding opportunities to explore their full range of interests. Our award-winning professors focus on student success with opportunities to conduct undergraduate research. Students' participation in UROP consists of three, interconnected components, the Colloquium, the Assistantship, and the Presentation. UROP is open to first- and second-year undergraduates and transfer students in all majors and requires a two-semester commitment lasting from Fall through Spring.
