One of the nation's leading hospitals in cardiology, cancer, neurology, and more, Emory University Hospital is staffed exclusively by Emory University School of Medicine faculty.
Emory University Hospital, formerly known as Wesley Memorial Hospital, was established in 1904 with 50 beds, and was housed in a downtown Atlanta mansion that survived the Civil War. In 1922, the hospital had outgrown its location and moved to its current site on the Emory University campus, thanks to a gift from Asa Griggs Candler, the founder of The Coca-Cola Company who was noted for his philanthropy.
With the arrival of the Hospital Tower on Clifton Campus, the Emory University Hospital continues to expand its services and expert care while creating an integrated, spacious, and welcoming environment for its patients and their families. The new Hospital Tower, a 450,000 square-foot facility, is connected to Emory University Hospital via a two-story bridge crossing Clifton Road.
