〰️ West Coast vibe
Going to art school is different on the West Coast—it’s free-spirited, radical, and experimental. And very CCA. You’ll see and feel it in the work made by our students and faculty, who use their practices to tell stories and change the world.
📍 Here’s where it happens
CCA is an accredited, nonprofit art and design college—the only school like it in Northern California. Our 22 undergraduate programs span architecture, design, fine arts, and writing, but we’re also known for blurring all those disciplines together (in art speak, that’s interdisciplinarity).
By the numbers
Our creative community is close-knit and inclusive, with about 1,200 undergraduates from over 50 countries. We have an 7:1 student-to-professor ratio, and our accomplished faculty come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. We’ve also been named one of the top 25 most diverse colleges in the U.S.
❤️ Making an impact
More than 100 years ago, CCA was founded to radically impact the world through art, design, theory, and practice. We’re still all about it. Our core values are equity, activism, social justice, and sustainability. And though our tools now include things like 3D printers and sensors, we’re still centered on craft and learning through making.
Creative Citizens in Action (CCA@CCA)
The entire college comes together around art, creative activism, and democratic engagement through CCA@CCA programming. Students participate through exhibition and organizing opportunities, public events like symposiums and lectures, and voter participation.
