Roger Williams Hall

In a sense, the world is inside Roger Williams Hall. Roger Williams is where you can study any number of languages and cultures, including French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian, and Spanish. The building also houses the Center for Global Education. The center provides information, support, and assistance to Bates’ international students, who come from more than 60 countries worldwide, and also to Bates students planning to study abroad on one of 200 approved programs around the world.

⭐ Off-Campus Study

60% of the junior class studies off-campus. In addition to semester and year abroad, students in all classes study in Short Term off-campus courses, taught by Bates faculty, around the US and the world, or join a Bates faculty-led Fall Semester Abroad (FSA). We are here to help you explore your options, expand your horizons, and make off-campus study a part of your Bates degree. Bates approves 200+ opportunities for off-campus study or study abroad, searchable by academic focus, geographic region and country.
